Examples of PPM files:
PPM file with colors coded with 16 values
PPM file with colors coded with 256 values
These are very small images (4x4 pixels), you should zoom on them a lot in order to see them conveniently.
If you do not have the appropriate software to see them, I recommand the image visualiser IrfanView, http://www.irfanview.com which works under Windows. You should preferably set the option "View / Display Options / Fit images to desktop".
In any case, you can see the content of these text files with any text editor.
